On Friday, May 3, 2019 Jared and Kaitlyn McKinney's life went from normal to uncertain as they received news that no one wants to hear... cancer. Doctors discovered that Jared has a large mass in his chest and diagnosed him with ALL ( Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia).
While doctors have been moving rapidly, the cancer is too. It has caused fluid in his lungs, has shown itself on the surface of his head, and is making its way into his spine. Jared will begin chemotherapy almost immediately!
If you know Jared, you know a few things about him:
1) He is a fighter and, as he has said, "will fight like it depends on him."
2) He is incredible follower of Jesus and, as he said, "will pray like it depends on God."
3) And finally, he has an amazing group of people who want to help and support them however they can.
That's what this page is all about. While Jared and Kaitlyn are blessed with great insurance there are several costs that won't be covered. Travel costs and specialty medical expenses are a big part of this.
