Mcheneke Food Shortage and Rebuilding Fund

Donation protected
Just before Cyclone Idai hit, Malawi was hit with heavy rainfall which has devastated our brothers and sisters in Mcheneke, Malawi, a community we consider family and have partnered with for almost a decade through Hands at Work. Hands at Work, with the local Church in Africa, ministers and intervenes to protect and care for the most vulnerable.

To give a sense of the disaster in Mcheneke:

-23 families of the children we support have lost their homes due to the rainfall. Houses cannot be rebuilt until the dry season, the end of this year.

-Entire crops have been destroyed in the wider region and in Mcheneke, and there will be no harvest, which they depend on for food, for this community of sustenance farmers, until the next season. Food prices can also be expected to rise, affecting the entire operation of Hands at Work.

Providing shelter, rebuilding the homes, and ensuring food security for the most vulnerable will be a sustained effort over the next year. Fundraising will go towards these efforts and is a way to encourage and support the immense task ahead of our brothers and sisters in Malawi.

We appreciate your prayers and support for our brothers and sisters in Mcheneke.
