Our 4th Graders Need Your Help!
Every year, 4th grade students in the Iditarod Area School District take a week long, educational trip to Anchorage.
This year, we have several activities planned such as a trip to the Seward SeaLife Center, the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, and the Iditarod Headquarters. The students will have the opportunity to learn to order from restaurant menus, pay for their own meals, make small purchases on their own...All opportunities that our students don't necessarily get out here in rural communities
There are seven 4th Graders excited to make the trip this year and our hope is that through community support we can sponsor each and every one of them. The total cost for our trip is roughly $10000, which includes travel, lodging, meals, and admission/fees for all of the different planned activities. We are asking for help raising at least $8500.
Our students are also hard at work planning several fund raising activities planned between now and the beginning of April for our local community members. There will be pancake breakfasts, raffles, weekly bake sales, bingo nights, and a "work day" where our students will help with spring cleaning!
Please consider investing in the lives of our 4th graders by helping to make this trip happen. Every little bit helps!
