William Downs McDowell, 32, was born February 22, 1987 in Burlington, Vermont and passed away suddenly on December 16, 2019. Will leaves behind a devoted wife, Kristin and two young children, Luke 3 and Maddie 18 months.
Will was recently medically boarded after 13 years of Active Duty service in the US Army. Will is a decorated veteran of the Global War on Terror, serving four tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan totaling 39 months (1,186 days) in some of the most austere operational environments.
At this time, the cause of death remains unknown and could take up to 6 months to be determined. The US Army will not release death gratuity or other benefits until the official death certificate is released.
Our hope in starting a GoFundMe is to help Kristin cover funeral and cost of living expenses until benefits can be released. We are starting this GoFundMe on behalf of Kristin, Luke and Maddie McDowell. Kristin will have sole access to all money raised.
