McBride Family Loses House to Fire

Donation protected
On Friday, December 29, 2017, Stephen McBride and his wife Cindy lost their home and all of their possessions in a devastating fire. Their son, Michael, was at home but was able to escape. Michael has battled the effects of cystic fibrosis since he was a small child. In the last two years, his parents and family have spent countless hours fundraising for him to get a double lung transplant. During that time, Michael and his mom have spent many months in a Houston hospital away from their home and family. Steve and their other son Robert ran the family business to pay the bills and were not always able to visit Michael at the hospital. Recently, everyone was reunited when Michael received his second lung transplant and was strong enough to return home with his anti-rejection drugs in hand, something that was also lost in the fire.

Now, they are facing yet another tragedy with the ravages of a fire that took what they had. Thankfully their son’s life was spared once again. However, this family of very strong faith can use financial assistance right now as they attempt to find a place to live, replace their necessary belongings like clothing and bedding, and pay for Michael’s medications. Steve, a volunteer fireman, has often come to the aid of those in need. He even had the privilege of responding to a plane wreck where he saved the life of a Navy pilot by pulling him from the burning plane. This family needs our help. Any amount that you donate will be put to good use as they work to rebuild their lives. God bless you for helping.
