My name is Sandra (Milton) Pacheco and I'm starting this Go Fund Me campaign for my little brother. I, along with my siblings found out on 6/22/18 that our little brother David was diagnosed with esophageal cancer.

He had his first appointment with the cancer team on 7/11/18 and it's been nonstop ever since. His treatments of radiation and chemotherapy started soon after his plan was laid out. He worked as long as he was allowed to but is not working at this time.  David is married and has to young children, Lilliana and Matty. His wife Jenn works but her income will not cover their normal monthly expenses and that is why I'm humbly asking for your help.

They have a mortgage and all of the other expenses that come along with owning a home. The family health insurance was carried by Davids job with the  Local 17 Sheet metal workers union but he is not working right now. They also have a separate insurance policy for their son Matty because he's in a special school and needs specialized care.  This is all very overwhelming for David and Jenn, and to be honest it's a little scary as well. I don't want my brother to worry about these things. I want him to be able to concentrate on staying strong and getting better. The donations made to this page will help them with things like insurance payments, food, heat, Matty's school and medical needs, and the running of their household. This page will be set up so the funds go into an account that only David and Jenn will have access to so they have what they need in a timely manner.

His treatment plan consists of radiation 5 days a week and chemotherapy every Monday. He will be done with the radiation and chemotherapy in the middle of October. His surgery will be scheduled soon after that to remove whats left of the tumor. He will then spend about a week in the hospital and finally come home to heal. He'll have a feeding tube for a couple of weeks because he will not be able to swallow on his own. He'll find out after the surgery if he needs to continue with the radiation and chemotherapy and for how long.  As you can see my brother has a long, tough road ahead of him and the last thing I want is for him to worry about money. He's going to need his strength to keep going and get to the end of this journey.

I'm truly blessed to have the siblings that I have and I know that. The thought of one of them being seriously ill scares me more than I can express.  I love my little brother with all of my heart and I just want him to get better. Christmas is sixteen weeks away and all I want this year is for David to be happy, healthy, and enjoying his children in front of a beautiful Christmas tree.

My final request from all of you is for prayer. If any of you are part of a prayer group at your church please have them pray for my brothers recovery. I'm a firm believer in prayer because it works! There's power in numbers so lets make this happen.

Thank you and God Bless.
