Brandi's Transplant Journey

Hi, my name is Brandi (Snodgrass) Hill. I am a 37 year old single mom to a wonderful son, who is the reason I continue to fight so hard to live. I need a double lung transplant for a rare lung disease. I also have had a brain surgery in August, and am having another brain surgery next week. These problems, along with a very weak immune system ( which I have been getting IVIG blood product transfusions once a month for about three years)- trying to get my immune system healthy enough for transplant. See, with lung transplant, you have to be sick enough (which I am, my disease is terminal) but you also have to be 'healthy' enough to have a good chance at surviving the transplant. So, it's been a constant struggle and still is. I can not be 'officially' listed for transplant until my body is stronger. I will not give up. I will fight to live, I want to finish raising my amazing son. Of course, all of my treatments, surgeries and appointments involve traveling to Vanderbilt in Nashville. Travel, medication costs, etc.... Adds up. Before I became sick, I worked as a paralegal and really loved my job. I'm too sick to work now, so I live off of disability. I'm blessed with so many wonderful people in my life, and have had several family and friends suggest I create this page.
