Prayers for the Walker Family

This man right here, is Ira Walker my Husband of 27 years of my life. Not always rosy, sometimes stormy but he is where my heart lies. We have 4 beautiful children and care for many animal family also.

Ira is a type 2 diabetic, 14-year-dialysis patient, as well as a double amputee. He has had multiple MRSA infections, cataracts removed, retinas reattached. He has a gastrostimulator—a device which allows his stomach to process food. He has had at least three mini strokes and an aneurysm.

He went into ER from dialysis a week ago this past Friday. He was tested for COVID and tuberculosis. Those tests were negative. He tested positive for a fungal infection—blastomycosis—an infection found mostly near farming areas and lake water. He has spent this time on a ventilator, he’s been treated with steroids and meds for the infection. He’s on blood pressure medicine to keep his blood pressure elevated and he’s being tube fed. He’s been kept sedated, something which has recently been stopped, but he is still unconscious. On Wednesday he is having a tracheostomy done; by remaining on the ventilator past two weeks, he runs the risk of infection as well as he is also unable to breathe on his own without it.

I am done working at my job at one of Our local Schools until the fall. And unfortunately I have not worked at my second job in over a month due to shortage of hours and the virus. At this point I am not certain when I will be working again. The month of June is taken care of. It’s where we go from here that is the concern as far as making the bills, providing food and other necessities and paying for any further medical care that isnt covered already! Any extra help for our family to help us through this will be greatly appreciated! Thank you all and be blessed.
