Lisa's Fight

UPDATE 09/01/19 FROM LISA:
First thing, I had my pulmonary function test and bronchoscopy. I saw my pulmonologist last Thursday and she told me the spots in my lungs, she doesn't believe to be cancer. (TYG TYG TYG). The cultures they grew didn't show they are caused by any current medications, either, including chemo. She does believe I still have some lung toxicity from chemo and very early COPD. She is still investigating to see what it might be but also scheduled me for a follow-up CT Scan in 3 months, saying if the spots are still there then she will biopsy one of them.
Second thing, I am having my tonsils and adenoids removed this coming Thursday the 5th and they will be sent to pathology. I am being told the recovery is really tough on adults and I will be in SEVERE pain. Their words, not mine lol and they must have told me that 8 or 9 times but both Dr's agreed they need to come out.
Third thing, I have two cervical lymph nodes that also lit up on the PET Scan, one on each side, near the tonsils. My oncologist said we will deal with those after we get pathology back on tonsils & adenoids.
Thank you all, for the many prayers and all the kind loving words you tell me and leave me on FB. Also, thank you so much for your generous donations on my Go-Fund-Me!! Every bit of it sure does help me out.
I love YOU ALL and would appreciate your continued prayers for the upcoming weeks!!
These illnesses and all the tests & surgeries that go along with it may be tough on the patient but is even harder for the families & significant others to watch and deal with so please keep my family in your prayers as well. Thank you SO SO SO MUCH!

UPDATE 08/20/19 FROM LISA: Thank you to all who still keep me in your prayers. I'm not on FB too often and it's due, in part, because I don't feel good too often and I don't have much time on my hands. Thank you for still loving me and thinking about me. It means so very much to me.
I had another PET Scan last Thursday the 8th and got the results when I went in for chemo the next day. I didn't expect to get them that soon so I was alone. Wish I hadn't been, to be honest.
Both my tonsils lit up like the sun and I have 3 spots in my lungs. Two in one and one in the other. Yes, I cried for 6 days and sat on my pity pot until I realized God was talking to me thru the daily prayers they send out at work everyday. I swear they were sent directly to me and I needed that. I am back to giving thanks to God for everything He has given me and everything He has taken away. I have COMPLETE faith in Him. This is in His hands and I feel the comfort of His love ALL around me.
Today I had a PFT, which is a pulmonary function test to see how my lungs are working. Believe it or not the tech said it has "slightly" improved since the last one she did for me in April 2018. YAY!! . Tomorrow the 21st I have a bronchoscopy and that should tell us what those inflammation spots are in the lungs. It could be caused from the chemo I get now or maybe from the chemo I had first in 2017 that gave me lung toxicity, pneumonia etc.... who knows but we will soon find out. I've had pneumonia twice since I have been home from Utah so maybe its from that? In my gut, I don't think it's cancer (in my lungs, anyways).
Now, the tonsils are a different story that is highly likely to be cancer, after all, tonsils are lymph nodes. So, I see the ENT on the 27th for a consult and my oncologist is suggesting a biopsy of them. I, on the other hand, plan on suggesting a tonsilectomy lol I don't need those things anyways.... just get rid of them, right?!
Stay positive for me, family and friends and I welcome all the prayers you can say for me.
I will keep you posted as things come up.
I LOVE YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!

UPDATE: Lisa’s fight just got harder, she is now in need of a bone marrow transplant. Her PET Scan revealed that she has new lymphomas in her lungs and chest. Her recent bone marrow biopsy, thankfully, indicated the Cancer has not made it into her bone marrow yet. In this case they will be able to use her own bone marrow.  To begin this next phase of treatment she will start with three rounds of very aggressive chemotherapy. She will be hospitalized for several days with each round of chemo. Before her third round of chemo she will meet with a team of doctors at the Huntsman Cancer Institute to begin the "bone marrow transplant" process.

Lisa has normal day to day living expenses, as well as thousands of dollars that she has to pay for her treatments. In addition, she will have travel expenses from Boise to Salt Lake City for evaluations, images and other tests. Once she is hospitalized for the transplant she will be in the hospital for approximately 6 weeks.  Please consider donating something, ANY AMOUNT HELPS! If you've already donated, THANK YOU! Remember that this is an ongoing need and you can donate more than once. GoFundMe is an easy and convenient way to donate but if you are not comfortable donating through GoFundMe then you can donate directly to Lisa. Contact Lisa or family to find out how to donate to directly to her.

As you can imagine it is not easy to ask for financial help. We sincerely appreciate those that have donated and continue to donate. Lisa hopes to get well to pay it forward herself one day.

Thank you all so very much from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have done and continue to do!

UPDATE:
Thank you all for your continued prayers, love and donations to our sweet Lisa. She continues to receive her radiation treatments and things are progressing for her in great way. Everything you all have donated has helped tremendously and has been appreciated more than she/we can ever express. Sadly,  Lisa and Mark were hit with another bump along this journey of ugly Cancer! Within the last couple weeks Mark was diagnosed with prostate cancer.  He will now need to undergo treatment as well.  While they both are putting their faith in god and remaining positive as always they need our help more now than ever. Cancer treatment for one person in a household is so so hard financially but, it is financially devastating with both members of that household receiving treatment. We all very much understand that times are tough for everyone. But, if any of you can help relieve this burden for them in any way we would be forever grateful. Again in addition to any financial assistance you can provide we ask that you please keep Lisa and Mark in your prayer and add to any prayer lists.

Our sweet Lisa was recently diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma. I'm sure you can imagine the shock of receiving such an ugly diagnosis, yet Lisa has not wavered in her faith that God has always taken care of her and will continue to do so. She knows she has to do her part by assisting God by fighting this ugly Cancer diagnosis with everything she has in her. She inspires us daily with her faith, her service work, her devotion to family and her wicked sense of humor.

As we are sure many of you know, Lisa and her love Mark just recently relocated From Sacramento California to their dream home in small but beautiful Emmett Idaho. Together they were working tirelessly to restore their property and to create their humble life together. She recently expressed that she knows moving to Idaho was all part of Gods plan for her to fight this disease. She said "God has blessed her with a great employer, that offers medical care and access to amazing cancer treatment". In addition to Lisa starting aggressive chemotherapy, Mark is going through back to back knee replacement surgeries. This is going to really drain their savings and put a strain on their finance's. In addition to any financial assistance you can provide we ask that you keep Lisa in your prayers and add to any prayer lists.
