Mazzo Family Fundraiser

Anyone who knows Lucy calls her a saint. She’s a selfless and caring woman, a dedicated mother and friend to all. After the Mazzo family lost their dear brother and son Joe to glioblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer, Lucy has been the glue that’s held the family together through it all. She has been the driving force in many lives, and a rock for those who have lost their way.

On January 4th, 2018, Lucy suffered a debilitating brain aneurysm. One of her last word she’s spoken since the aneurysm occurred were to her husband Scott. She told him to stir the chili, which she had been preparing earlier that day, to be sure it didn’t stick to the pot. These were her thoughts and concerns as she was waiting for the ambulance to arrive at her home. That’s Lucy for you, always putting others before herself. Since having the aneurysm Lucy has undergone several surgeries and continues to be in the intensive care unit at Yale hospital. The family is now faced with finding and placing her in a long-term care facility where she will receive the best care available during her recovery.

With this effort we’re hoping to raise funds for her medical expenses and help ease some of the families financial burdens, so their focus can be where it should be, on Lucy’s recovery.
