Maz Canine Rescue Premises

Maz’s Canine Rescue is a small charity dedicated to rescuing injured, abused or abandoned dogs in the Almeria region of Spain. We are desperately seeking funds to urgently purchase new premises because our current rented property is being sold (and we cannot afford to buy it). We need £70,000 to achieve our goal and continue our work saving these dogs.

This is our story....
Having been involved in rescue organizations since 2000, I decided to set up my own charity, Maz’s Canine Rescue. We have been operational for the past 7 years and are based in Andalusia, Spain. During that time we have rescued/rehomed hundred's of dogs. Our small but devoted team currently have 42 dogs in their care including some in foster homes.

All of our dogs enjoy dedicated one to one care and attention including time with a behaviourist for those who have been traumatized and need to learn how to trust again. Those dogs whose experiences mean they can never be rehomed are able to live out their whole lives with us. We rehome both in Spain/Europe and the UK and are able to facilitate all the necessary paperwork and transport arrangements. We have also started to rescue cats and currently care for 15.

We must vacate our present facility due to it’s imminent sale; but have found a derelict but structurally sound house with 2.7 hectares of land. We hope to purchase this and renovate the ground floor (as someone needs to be on site at all times with the dogs) and build kennel blocks to secure the continued existence of the Rescue and expand our work to include cats. 

We plan to have a memory tree mounted on the new kennel walls. Anyone kind enough to donate will be able to have a memorial to honour a much loved pet who has passed away which will include a name and photo. Anyone able to donate £1000 could have a kennel named after them or their pet.
