Study Abroad: Cape Town

This May, I would like to study abroad in Cape Town, South Africa. I’ve been given an amazing opportunity to learn while volunteering with children in the local schools, by teaching them art and reading to them. My passion has always been helping others and I have done so by volunteering with my home church and in my community and beyond. I am a sophomore in college with a current GPA of 3.5 and I have achieved this while volunteering regularly and being involved in several student organizations. I value education and volunteering and I put all my effort into both. I imagine the smiles of the children I will be teaching and reading to and it makes me so excited for this trip. I am working hard to save and have applied for and won a scholarship for the trip. However, I still need assistance with funds for room and board and transportation. This service-learning trip is not possible without help. Your donation will go to a good cause and you can rest assured that this a not a leisurely trip but that I will be working hard to make a difference in the lives of the children in South Africa. All program fees are due March 1st and flights will be booked by mid-March.
