Mayfield Recovery efforts

My name is Scott Cole and while I live in Denver, Colorado, I was born and raised in Mayfield Kentucky. 

 

Recently, my hometown of Mayfield, Kentucky was hit by a F5 tornado that tore through 4 different states and caused massive amounts of damage in its wake. The photo you see here is of the Graves County Courthouse located in the heart of Mayfield, Kentucky; a place where I grew up at, just a few blocks down the street.

 

While Christmas time is upon us and I know many of us face the difficulties of financial burdens in our own lives, I would humbly ask that you provide a small donation to help in the relief and recovery efforts of a place that helped shape me into the person that you know today. This town is passionate and humble to the core and the recovery process will take years. I am working with my family local to the area to locate a local charity or organization to send these funds to, so that the people on the ground in Mayfield can receive direct care without having to wait through months of filing insurance reports to get back on track with their lives.

 

Any amount you can donate to this cause is a blessing and can truly help those in need. Many families were displaced and are currently living out of the gymnasium and halls of Mayfield High School. Funds raised will be used to provide food, water, shelter costs, clean-up efforts and future rebuilding efforts. I am currently in talks to locate a local charity/church (will update with specific details once confirmed) that I can send the funds to directly so that they can purchase items such as food, water, blankets, and more to help local families who were displaced by this terrible storm. 

All funds raised will be given directly to the Chief CornerStone Baptist Church in Kirksey, Kentucky   to assist those affected by the destruction of the storms. I am in contact with members of the Church including the Pastor Keith Allred, and their treasurer Dave Watson.
