Mike and Lacy have been so excited to welcome their daughter into the world, joining Mike's two sons (Nick and Ryan) and Lacy's daughter (Elora). However, unexpectedly, their bundle of joy arrived much earlier than planned. Maya Jane McCollom was born 12:32 AM on August 17th at just 2 lb 14 oz, about 10 weeks prior to her expected due date.
After going into preterm labor at 30 weeks, Lacy delivered Maya via emergency c-section. Both Maya and Lacy are doing well. However, they will have a long journey ahead of them as Maya will likely be in the NICU in Lexington, KY at least through September. With this, of course, will come medical costs. Mike and Lacy are both self employed (Lacy happens to be an AMAZING photographer!) and will need to spend as much time as possible at the hospital with their beautiful daughter. Maya will need to stay in Lexington, which is about an hour and a half from where they live in Somerset and will result in additional travel and lodging costs.
As Mike's sister, I am setting up this page in an effort to ease a bit of financial burden and enable them to focus on their beautiful daugther. No amount is too small and greatly appreciated.
