Maya dog's health and surgery

Donation protected
This is Maya.  She's a 5+ year old labradoodle.  Maya recently underwent emergency surgery.  Over the course of a couple days she went from an excellent semi annual checkup to frequent vomiting to an overnight stay.  Multiple x-rays revealed a belly full of gas that she could not pass.  The vet thought surgery was the best course.  What was discovered were multiple adhesions, otherwise no other foreign items or blockages.  The adhesions were biopsied. The results were chronic inflammation.  The vet feels she has a food allergy.  At this point, post op, she's on a food trial for 3 weeks, on a vegetarian dog diet only.  Additionally I have been giving her an acid reducer and a gas relief pill at least once a day to help with relief - tummy noises, grass eating, gas, etc.  The vet has since put her on a steroid taper.  This is where I'm currently at with Maya.  Every day is spent wondering if she's going to have tummy troubles, will she require more pills, will she eat or be able to go to the bathroom ok.  The food trial and steroids are set to end in a couple days and who knows what lies ahead.  It seems it may be trial and error going forward.  My vet bills have surpassed $3000.  The Hydrolized vegetarian food is very expensive and I will have more vet visits and potential food trials in the very near future.  I'm trying to do the best I can for my beloved Maya and I juju want her to be happy and healthy.
