Max's Hospital Bills

As most of you know, I adopted my dog Max about a month ago. He is an eight-year-old rescue and has presented some challenges as he was never properly trained or socialized. He is a sweet guy and we've been working hard to get him adjusted to our home and he's been making great progress. Unfortunately, he is extremely reactive to other dogs.

Last night, I took him for a walk, and he became extremely excited about another dog in the park. I successfully got him to other side of the street despite his desperate attempts to pull away but, unfortunately, he wriggled out of his pinch collar somehow and ran across the street. A car hit him and drove off. I immediately took him to the Pet ER, and thankfully, he is going to be OK. However, he suffered a hip dislocation and a minor fracture to his pelvis. The vet has recommended crate rest and pain medication for the next eight weeks.

I am so incrediby grateful that this accident was not fatal and he is getting the care that he needs, but as we all know the bills are exorbitant. As a part-time barista who is trying to start my freelance writing career, just the cost of the diagnostics is more than I make in a month. I know there are plenty of worthy causes, and I know many of you may not even be in a position to give, but I am reaching out for any help paying off his bills. It's never easy to ask for help, especially financially, but this burden is sitting so heavily on me, I wasn't sure what else to do.

I love Max with my whole heart and he has become an important part of my life in just the month that we have been togther. I had to do what needed to be done for him.
