Maxi's Journey

We have set up a gofund page for Maxwell Ford-Richards. Max is a very bright and bubbly 15 month old from Tasmania. Max has been in and out of hospital since birth with bronchiolitus and suspected asthma spending days at a time in ICU not to mention the numerous visits to emergency in between. Now he has to face the biggest battle of his life. Max has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Osteosarcoma is a form of bone cancer which is extremely rare in children as young as Max, he is the youngest child to be admitted to the Royal Melbourne Children's Hospital with this condition. Max needs to undergo 10 weeks of chemotherapy then surgery to remove the tumor and then another gruelling 25 weeks of chemotherapy. This means that Julie and Greg (mum & dad) and baby Maxi will need to be in Melbourne for atleast 7 months. Max also has a 5 year old brother Nate who is staying with us in Tasmania and will be flown to Melbourne with one of us as often as possible to spend time with Mum , Dad and Maxi. This is going to be a very long and difficult battle for this family to endure so they will need all the help they can get. Greg has only just started a new job as a delivery driver therefore has no leave accumulated and has had to take leave without pay. This adding further financial strain to their situation. They have all but used what little money they had to set themselves up in Melbourne with food, essentials etc. Everyone who knows Greg and Julie will know they are beautiful caring people who love their children very much and would do anything for them (or anyone else for that matter). So we their family are asking for people to help this loving family through this very difficult time. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
