Hello friends!
My name is Taylor lookofsky and I am 32 years old living with a very rare disease called IPEX.
Immune dysregulation, polyendocrinopathy, enteropathy, X-linked syndrome, more commonly known as IPEX syndrome, is a rare genetic disorder that can present early in life with diabetes, diarrhea and eczema. The condition is extremely rare, affecting about 1 in every 1.6 million people, and most often presents in early infancy. The syndrome is characterized by severe enteropathy, chronic dermatitis, early onset type I diabetes mellitus (T1DM), thyroid disease and other autoimmune symptoms.
Because of the many issues this auto immune disorder presents, there is a very big financial undertaking. Recently, I have come across difficulties and being able to pay for my medical expenses including type one diabetes supplies for my insulin pump, copayment for doctors appointments as well as other medical equipment that is somewhat personal to share.
I hate having to ask for financial assistance but I am struggling. My credit cards is almost maxed out and my mental health is not where it should be in order to handle the stressors if this disease. I appreciate ANYTHING that can be given. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
