Maxmillian Osiris Radford Finley, an Atlanta, Georgia native was born on April 24th, 1975. In his youth, Max most enjoyed track, often spending much of his youth participating with the Quicksilver Track Club.

In 1993, Max graduated with honors from Fredrick Douglas High School in Atlanta and also received the Outstanding Academic-Athlete award from the Atlanta Public School system. After graduation, Max attended Syracuse University on a track scholarship. In 1998, Max (“Wolfe”) became a member of the Delta Beta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and graduated from Syracuse with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering.

After graduation, Max began his professional career with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). As an environmental engineer, Max became interested in the laws that govern our limited resources and decided to pursue his law degree at New York Law School, While at New York Law; Max distinguished himself as a prized member and Associate Editor of the New York Law Review. During this time he published “The Bitter with the Sweet: The Impact of the World Trade Organizations Settlement of the Banana Trade Dispute on the Human Rights of Ecuadorian Banana Workers.” After receiving his Juris Doctor in 2006, Max began cultivating his entrepreneurial spirit by purchasing several properties around New York State.

Those who had the opportunity to know Max often praise his ability to help others reach their potential by positively encouraging their dreams. Max is most remembered for his warm heart, calm spirit, witty humor and frank candor.  Benefitting students at Syracuse University, this scholarship has been established in his honor to pay tribute to his memorable and impactful life. It will be awarded to an African American or Hispanic junior or senior student majoring in environmental engineering, or for any engineering major who is from Atlanta, Georgia, or the southeastern United States.
