Maverick's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nick and I'm Maverick's dad. Maverick is my Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Even though he just turned 8 on December 21st, he'll always be my baby boy. He became very sick in July shortly after returning home from our 4th of July vacation. After many trips to the vet and 2 visits to the ER, we managed to get an appointment with the amazing doctor and staff at Olympia Veterinary Specialists Cancer Center in August. Maverick was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer near the end of August. Thankfully his doctor was able to put his disease into remission with chemotherapy. Unfortunately, his remission from the disease only lasted until the begging of December. He still has a lot of treatment and therapy options available to try and combat the disease back into remission. Mav is healthy, all things considering and still has an excellent quality of life at the moment. Giving up on him isn't an option. The vet bills to date are well over $10k and the cost is rising rapidly the harder the disease becomes to fight. We ask that anyone who would like to join Maverick in his fight against cancer please donate here. Every donation regardless of size or amount is just as important in making sure Maverick is able to have access and take advantage of the treatment and therapy options available to him as his condition progresses. If you aren't able to donate, he accepts hug and kisses as well.

UPDATE 1-17-2024: Maverick had his first follow up today since finishing the first 5-day dose of his new chemotherapy, Temozolomide 1 week ago. The results from his blood work are very good so far and his doctor says he's near clinical remission as long as his body continues to respond to the therapy. All but 1 lymph node are all normal in size again. He will begin his second 5-day dose of the Temozolomide on 1-23-2024. A follow up appointment will be on 1-31-2024. We aren't sure how many treatments of the current therapy he'll have to do yet. It all depends on how his body and disease continues to respond to the new chemotherapy.

Thank you all in advance.
