Mavericks Battle with Blastomycosis

On November 9th, our 1.5 year old Mini Aussie, Maverick was taken to the vet with symptoms of lethergy, occasional hacking and trouble breathing. He had a high fever and severe lung congestion that the Vet initially diagnosed as a pneumonia.  Over the weekend Maverick’s symptoms worsened and Tuesday night we had to take him to the emergency hospital. The veterinarian’s took x-rays and blood work, as well as sent out for multiple other tests including viral, bacterial and fungal infections. Maverick was immediately put in isolation and on IV until test results arrived. He has continued to worsen over the last few days and it breaks my heart to see him in pain.

Mav was diagnosised with Blastomycosis, a fungal infection that is seriously impacting his lungs. He needs the support of oxygen and IV at the hospital while he battles the initial treatment. As the medicine kills the infection it causes inflammation, putting even more stress on his lungs making these next few days critical. 
He is an incredibly special part of our family and we just want him to feel better! Unfortunately our stay at the emergency hospital has been very expensive, and will continue to rise, along with the cost of medication he would need for the next 6+ months.
We would grately appreciate any possible help and prayers for our little guy to be better soon so he can come home. It will be a long road to recovery but we need help getting him through this critical recovery time.
