Maverick Roy Webster

At about 7:20 pm on September 5, 2018, Maverick Roy Webster was born prematurely at 25 weeks gestation.  His parents, Kyle and Richelle Webster of Pender, had been looking forward to this day since finding out she was expecting back in April.  They were hoping he would arrive in December when he was due.

Shortly after Kyle and Richelle were married, she began experiencing severe health issues. She found out she was in Stage 4 Renal Failure and would need to be on dialysis until she could undergo a kidney transplant. Luckily, her sister in-law Apryl was a match and they underwent a successful kidney transplant in April 2017. One year post transplant, Kyle and Richelle were told by their doctors that they were able to have a baby and complete their dream of having a family!

Her pregnancy was going great until she started showing signs of pre-eclampsia and was admitted to the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha on Sept. 3rd. After only a few short days on bedrest and being closely monitored, they decided her life was in danger and she could no longer continue the pregnancy.

Maverick was born on September 5, 2018 weighing just 1.325 pounds. He is currently in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Omaha. At this point, he and Richelle are both doing well. Kyle, Richelle, and Maverick have a very long and rough road ahead of them, but we all believe that this family is fully capable of enduring and conquering another challenge.

Anyone who knows Maverick’s dad, Kyle Webster, knows that Maverick will probably have plenty of fight in him.  Kyle is likely one of the orneriest fellas one could meet, but he is also one of the most caring and giving people on the planet.  He has a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off of his back if needed.   Richelle is a genuine sweetheart and already is a wonderful mother!!

Richelle is a paraprofessional at Pender Public Schools, and Kyle is a farmer.  The next few months will be very challenging for these two as they try to help their son as he battles for his life.  They plan to work and provide for their family as much as they can, but it will be difficult.  Many people have already asked what they can do to help.  In this situation, one of the best ways to help is to donate money to Kyle and Richelle.  They will have countless trips from Pender to Omaha (and back), a mountain of medical bills, and endless expenses associated with being with their son in the foreseeable future.  This “Go Fund Me” page is one way to help this family, and your help is greatly appreciated.  Maverick also has an account set up in his name at Frontier Bank in Pender.  Anyone wishing to give to this account can do so by making checks to Maverick Roy Webster or Kyle Webster. If you are unable to make a donation, we ask for your thoughts and prayers for the three of them as they travel down this long and difficult road ahead.

Asking for help is WAY out of both Kyle and Richelle’s comfort zone.  They would not ever ask for help.  However, if there was ever a time to rally around and support this family it is now.

We will continue to update you on this site as Richelle heals and Maverick progresses. Thank you all for your love and support, it means the world to Kyle and Richelle and everyone else who loves them.
