Here is Maurices story in his words:
Trust me when I say it is not easy for me to ask for help but then here we are all as friends and Relatives. Any help would be greatly appreciated for my family and me.
During a routine medical check-up in December 2016, I was told I had a high PSA number. Normal PSA for ages 40-49 is 0-2.5 nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL). After three more PSA tests my numbers ranged from 9.0 to 7.0 so I had a biopsy on May 5th 2017. I then was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in volumes which at my young age was rare to my doctor. Days later I had a Nuclear Bone Scan to see if the cancer had metastasized. The results of that bone scan showed what looked to be a mass on my skull right above my left eye. The doctor wanted a CT scan done to better tell what the mass is. While waiting for the CT scan to be scheduled I visited my family doctor because I wasn’t feeling well and was diagnosed with a sinus infection and a spot that I thought started out as mosquito bites was actually shingles. Needless to say that was a tough week! The good news is the CT scan showed that the spot above my eye is fibrous tissue and not cancerous.
Surgery to remove the cancer is scheduled for July 11th. This is where I need assistance. My income is the only income coming into the home. Recent doctors’ appointments, missed work and upcoming surgery and recovery time will place a strain on us and we’ll be in a financial struggle to overcome this situation.
I just keep this in mind.
