I wanted to change it up for a minute and share a story as it hits me hard in the heart every day!! I have a friend, Maurica Espinosa who is one of the strongest women I know!! Her strength inspires me and her story gets me choked up every time I think of her!
❤️She is a mother of 6 children! That alone is superwoman status!! ❤️
❤️Yet, the worst fear any mother could face, was when her daughter passed away in 2006 when she was in 3.5 years old from a vaccination injury! Any of us moms know that would be a living nightmare!!!
She was married 11 yrs to my first husband divorced after loss of our daughter. She then married her knight in shinning armor in 2007. Life was great but then the family lost him on his 3rd deployment in Afghanistan in 2012. She found out he passed on February 17th.. had her daughter on February 25th at 23 weeks. She was in nicu 6 months. Thankfully she’s outgrown and overcome all obstacles. ❤️At the end of September of this year (just two months ago) she got the call that her son Gabriel was in an off road accident and hit by a drunk driver in another vehicle!! That accident led to her son having his right foot amputated just this week.
When they say that mothers are the toughest job on earth, it’s true!! I can’t imagine and wouldn’t wish this upon anyone!
Unfortunately, that’s not all!!!! This womans determination to survive and stand by her living children is by far, the highest of highs!
❤️As she dealt with her son recovering in the hospital, she received the phone call on October 16th that her son, Jonathan had passed away! He was struck by a driver when he was walking through a crosswalk. Within 2 weeks - two sons -two traumatic experiences!!!
❤️The holidays are here and I can’t imagine what’s she going through emotionally and mentally! Trying to be strong for your other children when all you want to do is break down and cry and wonder how you will get through this, has to be the most terrible thing to experience!!
❤️I haven’t heard a story that has hit by heart so hard and I thank you Maurica for allowing me to share your story!
