Hi everyone! I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve in a 10-day mission trip this Christmas break in Zambia. With over 700+ orphans attending this camp, I will be in charge of a group of 8-10 children and will be partaking in daily activities as well assisting in their spiritual development.
Out of the 15 million people in Zambia, there are over 1 million orphans, which is the highest per capita orphan rate in the world. This huge number is due to the high death rate from extreme poverty and HIV/AIDS.
I am raising money to provide more children with the opportunity of being saved from terrible living conditions. Family Legacy has created a 130-acre community called “The Tree of Life Children’s Village” for orphaned children. The children come from backgrounds of abuse, poverty, child-headed households, and some suffer from HIV/AIDS. All orphans are in need of healing, comfort and a fresh-start!
Children at the Tree of Life receive not only a safe place to live, but the spiritual healing and educational development that they need. My goal is to raise $5,000 for kids who are in need of sponsorships & those that have been sponsored in the past but are no longer.
