Maureen needs an upgraded wheelchair❤

*Note of explaination:This is a new fundraising effort for Maureen added onto the page of our successful lift fundraiser from 2016. This time the fundraising need is 5000 to buy a new wheelchair. I have added that amount to what we raised last time*
About 15 years ago, our good friend and world famous hilarious joke teller Maureen George was diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS. She has borne the decline in her mobility with profound grace and bravery , humbling to all who know and love her. Her form of MS is particularly aggressive , leaving Maureen essentially quadriplegic and in need of help in every daily function.
Maureen, with the help of her brother Mark and daughter Katie has had to stretch a very small disability income to cover a very expensive illness and still pay a mortgage and keep the home running. There has been some recent wonderful news... Maureen will gain access to her retirement fund in May, something she thought wasn't possible for another 5 years. It comes at a crucial time, with Mark needing time off to recharge and Maureen needing more specialized help and care that jeopardizes her finances and ability to stay in her home.
In 2016 we came together as a community and raised about 14000.00 which got Maureen the lift she needed, not covered by insurance, and a pump replacement that delivers her medication. It was so wonderful to a part of that effort!
Now, Maureen's wheelchair is needing to be upgraded to better fit her circumstances. The chair she needs she has located on sale for just under 5000.00. Maureen's chair is essential to her, and it's hard to overstate how much it's functionality adds to her quality of her life.
So I'm asking this community to come together again and join me in getting Maureen an upgraded wheelchair so she can take advantage of this great sale price (it's normally is $8000-9000), and so she can stretch her retirement income as carefully as possible for as long as possible to buy the care she needs.
We can do this, and our Maureen deserves it!
