Maureen Hurley Fund

Our Dear friend Maureen Hurley has been suddenly diagnosed with StageIV metastatic cancer, likely ovarian.. This has been quite a shock to all of us. She has not been well for a while but no one knew how serious it was.  Her daughter has taken an emergency leave of absence to be her mother’s full-time caregiver. She is trying to keep her mother as comfortable as possible, managing the pain of cancer and intestinal blockages with the help of Hospice.

Maureen is a sweet, giving and loving soul who has always put others needs before herself. She has been a champion volunteer at the Meher Spiritual Center - making large pots of chai for afternoon tea, attending to the library, and as receptionist and evening gateway volunteer. Her calendar is full of these opportunities to serve. The rest of her personal appointments take second place.

Maureen has been managing on limited finances by taking part time jobs to make ends meet for a long time. Neither she nor her daughter are able to work at this time. They really need your help. We are reaching out to you. Please be generous and help them with their needs: normal day-to-day that can no longer be covered, healthy foods, airfare for her daughter, new day-to day expenses that cannot be anticipated and of course funeral expenses.

We would like to make this difficult time as free of financial anxiety as possible for our dear sisters. It is our turn to help someone who has always put others first.
