Maui Mel battles cancer

Single mom of 3 year old little man, active in local church and community, and always willing to reach out to those in need. Even her career as a massage therapist is about helping others to lead healthier, happier, higher quality lives. Living for each day, and striving to find joy in everything even life struggles. Which may mean planning a play date, showing up last minute with a meal when someone is sick, hosting an orphan holiday, reaching out to say hi or just hopping in the ocean for a swim fully clothed while on a walk with little man. Because life is meant to be lived.
In July of 2018 was diagnosed with breast cancer after having a cyst removed. On Sept 7th surgery is scheduled for a double mastectomy, with possible chemo and radiation to follow. Chemo could be 1x a week for 6 months, then 1x per month for another 6. We won't know for sure until the full biopsy following the surgery. But it looks like 6-12 weeks off work completely, followed by reduced work load for 6-12 months depending on how chemo/radiation is tolerated.
These funds will allow normal bills like rent, car ins, groceries, etc..., and medical bills that may happen while off work recovering from surgery, and allow time off work for chemo once a week. Also, they will allow the strict but effective diet recommended of cancer survivors and patients which insurance does not cover, and is very expensive here on Maui.
