Aloha,
Back from Maui and I can tell you we made a difference! The week was filled with hope, and although there were many tears and difficult moments, the outpouring of love and aloha lifts everyone up. We donated to the keiki - the children - both with a monetary donation directly as well as backpacks and school supplies - this one young lady lost everything and she is out collecting supplies for her schoolmates. We helped feed people in shelters with the meals programs and donated much needed supplies to those that don't have water, toilet paper, diapers, baby food, etc. and we helped the displaced and homeless animals with deliveries of cat food and cat items and another load with dog food and dog items, a monetary donation to help with medical supplies for the burns. This one pup is so sad and scared (sorry blurry photo) and has burns on the pads of his feet - I was with so many animals, cats, dogs, bunnies, pigs, etc. hoping many of these pets will be reclaimed by their families. Was able to see firsthand the devastation of this fire in a small area of Lahaina and the smell that lingers from everything burnt is not something I'll soon forget. It will take a long time for recovery and rebuild, but Lahaina and upcountry will rebuild. Now Maui needs our support - Lahaina needs to grieve and heal - but 99% of MAUI IS OPEN and unaffected and beautiful - people need a purpose and hotels and restaurants need people - please support by coming to visit Maui! Thank you all for your donations! Much Aloha XOXO Pam
