Maui Peace Hero Joe Pluta: Fire Relief Fund

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jennifer Digiacomo. My father Joseph Pluta just lost EVERYTHING in the Lahaina fire. Thank God he has his life after escaping through a bathroom window as smoke and flames engulfed his home but his house, car and office, along with all of his and his wife Carole's belongings have been destroyed. Consequently, they need help with food, clothing, medicine, transportation and shelter.

Joe's wife Carole Pluta has been battling Dementia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's for the past 10 years and requires full time care. Thank God she was safe with her wonderful caregiver Tu'u on the other side of the island, at the time the fire occurred, but her ongoing treatment is a large financial expense that must be maintained.

Anyone who knows my dad will attest to the fact that he is the kindest, most generous, positive and loving man you'll ever meet! Joe has been involved in numerous nonprofits such as the West Maui Taxpayers Association and is currently the president of the West Maui Improvement Foundation which has ironically been campaigning to build a desperately needed Fire Station in Olowalu.

In 2018 he was awarded the "Maui Peace Hero" award for his selfless service to the community of Maui. Not only has he donated his time, talent, energy and resources for the greater good of Maui throughout his past 40+ years of residency, but has also served our country in the US Navy.

Joe is always ready and willing to help whenever and wherever needed. That being said, as much as he loves to help others, he would never ask for help for himself, even when he so desperately needs it. That's where I come in. Asking you from the bottom of my heart to help this wonderful man get back onto his feet so that he can continue to spread God's love, helping make miracles happen on Maui and throughout the world!

Aside from monetary donations, keeping him and Carole in your prayers or taking the time to write them a card, sharing words of appreciation, love, hope and encouragement are also invaluable to help lift Joe's spirits at this time. No gesture or amount is too small. These funds will be wired directly to them to help assist in their needs asap. Thank you and God bless!
