Matt's Liver and Heart transplant

Hello Friends and Family,
I have been a close friend of Matt and Rhonda Grammatico for over 20 years and have been blessed by their giving hearts many times over.
Maybe you have been blessed by them as well. Perhaps you have been a recipient of their generous giving in many forms, like a warm meal after surgery, or an open home for help in going through life struggles. Or maybe you have even enjoyed much joking and laughter with the encouraging spirit of this couple.
Now this family is in dire need of our help and giving!! Matt is closer than ever to double organ transplant - heart AND liver.
WHY:
Matt was born with a serious heart condition called Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome. He underwent his first life saving procedure when he was just 6 weeks old, followed by an open heart reconstructive surgery when he was 11. Matt also needed multiple procedures and surgeries throughout the next 30+ years of his life. In addition, during one of Matt's surgeries as a child he was unknowingly given a Hepatitis C tainted blood transfusion. The virus attacked his liver, undiscovered, for over 20 years.
He has struggled all of his life with keeping his health in balance with the many medicines necessary for sustaining the vital processes of a compromised heart and liver. Many times he has had to sacrifice the things that most of us take for granted, like a fun vacation or a spur of the moment event, so that he could keep his health balanced.
Matt’s liver health and overall health has been steadily deteriorating and his doctors have diagnosed him with end stage liver disease. His condition is complicated by his already challenging heart issues and his condition has brought him to an extended stay in the ICU at Cleveland Clinic where they are preparing him for a double organ transplant - heart AND liver at the same time.
While Matt is in the ICU, Rhonda is able to stay in an on-campus "hotel" to remain close to Matt. Because of COVID, she is not able to be with him in his room, but she remains as close as possible in the waiting rooms of the hospital.
WHAT:
Would you consider partnering with the Grammaticos in this extremely hard battle for Matt’s health by contributing to their cause. All funds will go toward:
- Expensive medicines, medical bills and insurance
- Costs involved with the transplants: Liver and Heart
- Current living expenses as both Matt and Rhonda will not be able to work for an extended period of time
- Rhonda's hotel cost at Cleveland Clinic for extended stays
I know that any gift you can contribute will be a huge blessing to Matt & Rhonda’s family. Any amount, no matter how small, will be a blessing to them to know that you are thinking about their family.
