Otino Waa trip and Video Project(s)

When God takes you down a path you walk and trust in the outcome.

Earlier this year I was granted an opportunity to go to Uganda with Eastmont Church and to a fantastic place called Otino Waa Children's Village (https://www.otinowaa.org) I was not sure exactly sure what the plan was. Honestly, I am not sure exactly sure what the final plan will be, but I do know I am going to be helping with an amazing organization Visions of Hope. Visions of Hope (www.visions-hope.org) does life-changing work in that they have been partnering with Otino Waa Children's Village since 2009 in response to the inmates at one location in an Oregon Prison wanting to do more than child sponsorship. They organized into an art committee, got permission to send art out of the facility and began to produce art. By producing this art and helping to sponsor the kids it is both changing the lives of the inmates as well as the Children of Otino Waa.

My plan:
Well as I said before God is moving me down a path and the long-range goal would be a documentary discussing and exploring a simple change in the hearts of these inmates. There has been a documentary in the past titled "Lost & Found", but my goal would be to take the story further and take a look at the true changes in the lives of both the inmates and the children since the program began.

The Need:
I own and operate a video production/event support company by the name of Hand in Hand Productions and my focus has been helping nonprofits tell their stories in better ways. However, this opportunity presented itself in a different way and I do not have the funding in place to begin the process of telling a great story. I will be leaving May 3rd and would love to know that in leaving I will be able to take the time to finish the first stage of the project which is recording interviews and editing them into a pitch piece for further work. I am needing this funding to purchase some gear for travel production as well as cover costs of travel and work on the piece when I return.

I have always followed the premise of doing good because that is what I am called to do.  Mostly though by supporting me I know that we will make a change in the lives of the inmates as well as the children of Otino Waa.
