Little Matthew Santiago Needs Help!

Donation protected
A really difficult situation, to put it lightly, has found its way into the Santiago family. This little boy is Mathew Santiago. Mathew is sweet, smart, kind, artistic, loving, and just an all around awesome little 6 year old. Less than a week ago, last Sunday, Mathew's parents took him to the emergency room because he was having abdominal pain and pain when standing up. They had no idea that their lives were about to be turned upside down. At 3am that night this unexpecting family was told Mathew most likely had cancer. Many of you know Mathew and his family and know the type of people they are. Mathew is the light in their eyes. This news was unimaginable. On Tuesday they did bone marrow and a tumor biopsy to see how and if the cancer had spread in his body. On Wednesday, the results came in and showed that it had and that Mathew's cancer was labeled as stage 4 Neuroblastoma. This is obviously the worst results they could have gotten . This is so beyond any news a family should ever have to hear. Marcos and Christina are showing unimaginable strength in these circumstances. To be around this family at this time is both heartwrenching and inspiring. Marcos and Christina know they can not break down. They are being as strong as humanly possible in the face of what is happening. They WILL not consider the idea of Mathew not pulling through this illness. As of today, Mathew is on his 3rd day of chemotherapy. He is very intelligent and he is being taught about the things that he is going through. He tries to stand and he is drawing pictures to thank his nurses despite how bad he feels and how scared he is. Yesterday, on thanksgiving when he was asked about what he was thankful for, he said his teacher. He loves school. He is in Kindergarten and he misses it. The family has been told he has a long road ahead of him.. a year, to a year and a half of difficult treatments. Christina, Mathew's mom, has not left his side since they went to the E.R. 6 days ago. And she says she will never leave his side. She has a hard time even forcing herself to leave him to use the bathroom. Marcos, Mathew's dad has only taken one trip out of the hospital to go back to the house to pack up some clothes for them to wear. Like most of us, Christina and Marcos are a hard working family. Christina works in the radiology department of Lake Wales hospital in Clermont and Marcos works as a  service manager of a copier company. I am praying that this gofundme account will be able to help them get through this without losing their home and will help with expenses they will incur throughout all of this.. Mathew is the youngest of five children. Two of the older children are staying at the house. I watch them and I know that they need eachother in able to be strong for Mathew. Christina will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time.  I really wish that she had some relief knowing that she didn't need to worry about money at this time, and to just be able to focus on Mathew and his health. I'm so glad there is a place to write about this family and what they are going through right now. hopefully it can help them pull through all of this. I know there are a lot of gofundme accounts out there. I believe that gofundme was especially designed for a family like this. Please consider supporting them through the fight of their lives, if you are able. My name is Karen Bialek Day, I am a friend of the family and as a mother, my heart just aches for this beautiful family. They have been told about the road ahead, but have no idea about the reality of what a year and a half of fighting for their sons life will really be like. But, they are going to do it. They are going to need a lot of support. MATHEW will be triumphant and one day be able to look back on what happened to him when he was 6. I'm grateful to know this family. Please share Mathew's story in hopes of helping this family in need ♡♡♡♡
