Matthew's NBC Germany Tour

Donation protected
My name is Matthew Severn. However, some of you may not know me personally, but you may know my parents, Dodd and Renae Severn. I am 16 years old and currently a sophomore at Spokane Classical Christian School. I have been playing basketball since Kindergarten and I am currently playing for Spokane Classical JV and  Varsity Basketball teams. Basketball is the reason I am asking you to consider sponsoring me in this one-time opportunity.

Last summer was my 6th summer attending NBC Basketball Camps at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington as well as my second year Junior Coaching at camps. Every time I have attended camp, it has helped me to improve as a basketball player. More importantly, it has impacted me as an individual, my relationships with my coaches and family, and my relationship with God. This is why I keep returning to camp. The experience that I have had at camp is indescribable and totally worth the investment!

In the summer of 2017, I was selected to join an NBC International Tour for the summer of 2018. I was nominated by my camp coach for having the talent and character it takes to be on an NBC Travel Team. Letters of Recommendation were then filled out by my coach, a friend, and also my parents. In early November, I officially joined the team. On July 19, 2018, I will be traveling with my team to compete against other teams in Germany. I am very excited, grateful for being accepted for this tour, and grateful for my parents, who are supporting and helping me prepare for this incredible opportunity.

I enjoy basketball and I hope it can stay a part of my life for a long time. Traveling with NBC is a life experience that only a few people will have the opportunity to do. The trip will give me the unique opportunity and platform to share Jesus Christ, to be an ambassador for the United States and Spokane, as well as to play basketball against some of the best teams in Germany and Belgium. The tour will cost about $5,345, which includes a training camp in Seattle, airfare, lodging, land travel, two meals a day, game expenses, equipment, and sight-seeing. However, it does not cover travel to and from Seattle, any spending money, any gifts for the host families, snacks, a 3rd meal of the day, etc.

This is why I am asking you to partner with me to help make this dream and experience come true! I know each of you and your families are in different financial situations, but if you are able to help me out in any way, I would be very grateful. I am accepting donations, but also, for those of you in the local area, I am willing to work for you (babysitting, miscellaneous projects, etc.) in exchange too. However, for your information and your planning purposes, this would not be a tax-deductible donation. Even if you cannot help me at this time, I do appreciate that you took time to read my letter and learn more about me, NBC camps, and NBC tours. If you would like to help me financially, please make a donation on this site. Contact me further for other payment options. I thank you in advance for your prayers, thoughts, and financial support and I pray for God’s blessings to you and your family in this new year.
Sincerely,
Matthew Severn
