It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a member of our Dirtbag family. Matthew Kirby, 17 years old, lost his battle with Covid-19. His parents Joy and Stephen are also currently battling Covid as well. We are asking for donations to help offset the medical and memorial expenses for Matthew. All proceeds will be given directly to Matthew's parents. Please take a moment to read what some of Matthew's coaches have to say about their experience working with him.

"Every time I saw Matt Kirby, he had a smile you couldn't forget. He was full of life and loved being on the baseball field, as well as working on his skill set in our training facility. My heart goes out to the Kirby family during this difficult time." - Trey Daly

"Matt Kirby was a happy go lucky kid who always had a smile on his face and loved being on the baseball field! He was a great teammate and everyone loved being around him! This is just tragic news and my heart goes out to the Kirby family." - Brent Haynes

"Matt is one of those kids you just never forget. He was one of the hardest workers and best teammates you could ask for. Matt did whatever was needed for the success of the team. Matt will be missed dearly. Thoughts and prayers going out to the Kirby family." - Tyler Drew

"Matt Kirby was a bulldog on the baseball field and a great teammate! He was such a great guy just to be around! My heart is broken for friends, family and former teammates." - JD Poetzsch

"Matt was on my first team I coached for the Dirtbags. He was one of my favorites because he had one of the best attitudes and was willing to put in work and make himself a better player. He was liked by all his teammates and yes he always wore a smile. As we moved on each year, I saw Matt and you could tell he improved each year. He loved baseball and I loved that kid. We will be praying for you Matt and your family during this sad time." - Russell Haynes
