Matt's Debut EP!

Hi everyone,

I am so excited to announce that I will be recording my debut EP!  This is no small task.  It takes so much planning, coordinating, decision making,  rehearsing, arranging, hiring of musicians, recording and promoting.

My Story

It has been a long voyage to get to this moment.  It all started three years ago when I participated in the American Songbook Academy hosted by Michael Feinstein.  I was so fortunate to be their 2016 Celebration Award Winner.  This music has always been a part of my life and my experience with the Songbook Academy has solidified my love for it.  This is why my EP will feature some of the greatest music from this cannon. I will be backed by a full big band and strings; much in the same style as some of my heroes' (Sammy, Frank, and Mel to name a few) most beautiful and exciting albums.




My Celebration Award win at the Palladium in Indiana led to an appearance with Michael Feinstein at 54 Below in NYC.  These events magnified my love for performing music from the Great American Songbook. 


Over the past three years, I have been studying Musical Theatre at Montclair State University and have been loving my experiences there.  I am now going into my Junior year!   



Thankfully, I have an amazing support team led by my brilliant cousin Jack Hoffman.  Jack is a music producer/arranger/musician who is carving his name into the music world and getting loads of recognition from very prominent people in the industry.  He and I have been talking about recording an EP for several years now.  I have gotten to this moment thanks to his persistence and encouragement.  Jack will be producing and co-arranging the music along with the incredibly talented Trevor Motycka and my dad, Jeff Hoffman.  I am thrilled that the musicians who have agreed to play on my EP are also some of the best in the world!  They have played for Eddie Palmieri, Little Stevie Van Zandt, and Blood, Sweat, & Tears.

Why Am I On "Go Fund Me?"

As I have begun to prepare for this new venture,  I realized there was one more element I needed to achieve my goal... MONEY!

That's where you come in!  I am asking for your donation to the cause, which will help defray the costs of royalties, promotion, and properly compensating the people and artists who are helping me make the best product I can.  60% of the funds raised will be used to hire those amazing musicians. 20% will be used for studio costs.  10%  will be used for content and photography, and 10% will be used for business-related costs.
