Matt's Clearwater Arrest Legal Fund

In January I was arrested illegally in Clearwater, FL in front of the Scientology FLAG building. I initially started without a voice amplifier, but after the FLAG turned on music over their loudspeakers, I started using my personal amplifier. Next thing you know there were 7 Clearwater police there, and they told me unless I turned the amplifier off I would be arrested. I refused, and was arrested.

I was charged with a noise code violation and resisting arrest non-violent for telling the officer "I don't talk to police" when asked my name. I subsequently handcuffed and put in the back of the police car, where I sat for over an hour to the point where I couldn't stand up due to the pain. I spent the next 11 hours in the Pinellas County jail waiting to make bail. While in jail though, I was privileged to lead an inmate to the Lord.

So now I have had to pay for a lawyer, private investigator, bail money, and of course travel back & forth to Florida, and it will continue until the trial. Please consider making a donation towards these mounting legal costs as I fight this unjust arrest in violation of my 1st amendment rights.
