Simply put, Matt Odell needs some relief. His health situation and inability to work is stressful to say the least
...raising funds will help alleviate many burdens while his doctors figure out a treatment plan. I'm sure a get-together will be announced, but in the interim he needs all the financial help he can get. He explains his situation here:
"I have been diagnosed with what is called Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). I have heard other terms for it such as cardiac myopathy, chronic systolic heart failure and ventricle fibrillation ejection fraction % . Many people have this condition. There are different severities involved concerning CHF. My ejection fraction is 20% in my left ventricle. Essentially my heart is working at barely 20%. Hence the low BP and syncope. According to my cardiac team I am extremely sick. Their words not mine.
Over the next 3 months I am taking a regimen of medication that may help my heart improve. I am being monitored 24/7 by what is called a "Life Vest". It is a wearable heart monitor and defibrillator. I have to wear the Life Vest incase I experience sudden cardiac death (SCD)or sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). The vest will automatically alert and shock me in an attempt to restart my heart. After 3 months they will determine if my heart has improved with medication. If it has not improved or has gotten worse I will have surgery to implant a pump and defibrillator to keep my heart going. At that time I will be added to a transplant list.
I am taking this all in and it can be overwhelming at moments but I'm staying positive and I'm in good spirits.
