We’re adopting, Matt & Kelley Guth

Matt and I have wanted to start a family for many years.   It seems that time  just got away from us  and when we decided to start a family, what we thought would just be an easy next step in our lives became one of the biggest and most difficult challenges we have ever faced.    

 As we faced challenges in fertility time kept ticking away and many years of specialists and treatment attempts, finally resulted in accepting the fact that  having children is just not going to happen the way we thought it would.  It has been an emotional journey for us both with many ups and downs, twists and turns all leading us on this journey to adopt a child.  We know this is what is meant to be for us and have faith in the process of adoption.

We have worked hard for the past six months preparing for the process. Many hours of paperwork.  Collecting records and information required for the process.  

Kelley made a major decision in November to step down from a job she had devoted her entire life to for the past 17 years.  A life changing moment because she has sacrificed so much of herself  in her career as a college soccer coach.   It was an incredibly difficult decision but one that was necessary at this juncture in our lives.   It is time to put everything else aside and focus on our dreams of having a child and devoting 100% of ourselves to becoming a family.  

We completed our home study recently and our profile is complete and active.  We are working with Faithful Adoption Consultants who is assisting us with navigating the process and finding our match.  

We are reluctant to start a fundraiser because we wanted to be able to do it all on our own financially.  The reality is that our fertility expenses exhausted a lot of our savings, early retirement  and even some loans.  

Our dream of adopting a child depends on our ability to afford escalating costs associated with the process.   We have saved every penny we can.    We are expecting  the adoption process to cost upwards of $40-50,000.  

 We felt that  we should share our story and ask for help and prayers for our family. We want to welcome a child to our home soon.
