Matt Jones Cancer Battle
Matt Jones, our hero, is a loving husband, father of four, grandfather of five (soon to be six). Matt’s love for his family and his strong faith have given him much strength through tough times.
Matt is a proud Veteran, having spent 28 yrs serving in the US Army. Matt deployed four times to Operation Iraqi Freedom receiving the following awards: The Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Senior Parachute Wings, Combat Action Badge, and Air Assault wings.
After his time served, and he was home safely, we thought he had won the battles of his life.
He’s got a bigger battle now with cancer diagnosis. Matt recently was diagnosed with colon cancer. The evil cancer has spread to his liver and surrounding areas.
Matt will need multiple surgeries, chemo and radiation. He will be left with exorbitant medical expenses. Matt is the sole breadwinner for his family and he will not be able to work for some time. Matt’s loving & supportive wife of over 30 years, Kathy, is not only his full time caretaker, she home schools their two youngest children due to their special needs and medical issues of their own.
The family’s world has been turned upside-down. With this devastating news, they are attempting to move forward and beat this with everything they have. May God’s hands wrap tightly around them.
