Matt and Kaila need your help

Those of you who are lucky enough to know Matt and Kaila know them as the most beautiful and courageous young couple. They have faced more in their young lives than anyone I know. Both diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis as babies they endured a childhood of numerous hospital admissions, and lungs that continued to deteriorate to the point where each breath was a struggle. They met in PMH as children and fell in love in adult life. Kaila was given the gift of new lungs in 2013 and Matt in 2014, the same week he asked Kaila to marry him. Those who witnessed them marry in 2015 felt like they were part of the most miraculous love story ever told.

They are now facing the biggest challenge of their lives and they need our help.

Matt was hospitalised Tuesday 5 December, struggling to breathe. He was admitted to ICU and on Wednesday 13 December the doctors held a meeting and told Matt that there was nothing else they could do to help him.

Matt is fighting for every breath. I have never in my life witnessed such raw courage and determination. He is absolutely determined to win this fight.

We want to help him breathe easier by taking some of the financial pressure off them both. They have no income coming in and this is one way we CAN help and make a difference.
