I feel so fortunate to be in a school district and community where I am able to receive a great education, learn from well-qualified teachers, and participate in activities that I enjoy. Unfortunately, it is not the same in some communities across the world. For example in Nairobi, Kenya
there are severely impoverished areas that do not get government funding. Minimal private funding has enabled them to set up rudimentary school rooms for extremely poor children who would otherwise never receive an education. Two such schools are Koinonia Education Center and Salama Gachie School. Both schools do not have enough funding for supplies and material for teachers to deliver basic math lessons to kids. Consequently, the students are failing in math. This problem does not just occur in Kenya. In the economically disadvantaged areas of India, Peru and even parts of the United States,
kids continue to fail in math due to lack of proper education.
The students of these schools are often hardworking and eager to learn. With basic supplies and lesson plans, math education will dramatically improve their education. Many of these schools are in dire need of items such as whiteboards, pens, erasers, math games, base ten blocks, printers, ipads, and so much more
. These basic supplies and material are both essential and integral to primary and secondary math education.
I am raising money to fund basic math supplies. 100% of the proceeds will go towards the purchase of essential supplies needed by these schools
. Please consider donating to this cause. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! :)
I will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya in the summer of 2019 to volunteer in both schools. I am so excited to meet the children and bring in supplies to help these schools. I will also be traveling to different locations around the world such to help, volunteer, and deliver needed educational supplies. www.learningoutreach.com
