Matheny Family Fundraiser

Dear Friends,

 As many of you are aware, back in the summer of 2018, our good friend, Lauran Matheny was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  This horrific news changed the focus and reality for the entire Matheny family.  Lauran continues to courageously fight this battle with determination and dignity.  Her positive attitude and loving spirit have certainly been an inspiration to all those who know her!

 Over the last several years, many of our friends and family have faced similar struggles that have touched us all.  One common theme that we must celebrate is how this amazing community comes together to support each other.  We are so very blessed to have such a powerful circle of loving friends to rise to these challenges and carry us through dark and lonely times. 

 Friends, this is one of those times when we are called to gather together to lift up the Matheny family!  As you can imagine, the cost of fighting this cancer is tremendous and has left Lauran and Zack with an overwhelming amount of medical bills and other expenses associated with this fight.  In an effort to offset some of their expenses, we are organizing a really fantastic, energetic fundraiser.  Many of you have already been so supportive in various ways, but we are asking for everyone to reach out and help make this a successful and meaningful event

Entertainment provided by our favorite band, “50 Fifty”, featuring some of Greensboro’s very own celebrities including the ultimate rock star, Mic Cardone! If you have not had the chance to hear these guys jam, you will be truly amazed by their talents! 

Mac’s Speed Shop with be selling tickets to their delicious “Hog Roast” where a portion of the sales will go towards our mission.

We hope to have an enormous crowd at this event to show our love and support for Lauran, Zack, Cam, William and Lily!

For those unable to attend on March 14th, they can still donate through the established Go Fund Me Page.  For every person that donates $100 or more, his/her name will be entered into a drawing for a fabulous 4-night stay at Olde Towne Yacht Club in beautiful Beaufort, NC.   The winner will be announced following the conclusion of the event at Mac’s Speed Shop on March 14th.

The Matheny family has expressed how eternally grateful they are for all the acts of kindness that have been shown during this tough journey.  And they are humbled by your ongoing support through these fundraising efforts.
