MATEO LOPEZ
                  November 9, 2015 – November 6, 2017

How can we ever forget that smile - That grin in his face he often had. It was a warning; an indication he was up to something. As soon as he spotted an opportunity, he would make a break for it. He would run as fast as he could, not turning back, hoping no one would notice. Little did he know we were always watching, always vigilant of his whereabouts. More often than not, he would reach his target without a problem. Catching his breath, he would climb that huge ladder just to feel the excitement of sliding down the slide. Not even his light blue cast wrapped around his left arm could prevent him from enjoying what he loved best. One of his best accomplishments was jumping from that third step all the way to the ground. Oh the smile in his face of how proud he felt every time he landed! The playground was his obsession. It was one of his favorite things that made those beautiful eyes of his glow.

Mateo was a boy full of energy, since the day God placed him on this Earth. At his young age, he lightened up everyone’s life that surrounded him. He was a sympathetic and playful little boy, earning a spot in a lot of people’s heart. Without a doubt our Mateo will always be missed and remembered.

It was a Monday afternoon the last time Mateo climbed up that slide. It was the last time he rode those swings and the last time he made that 3-step jump. The playground now feels lonely and sad without him.

A week later Mateo left us and went to heaven. Everything happened so fast. Mateo suddenly became ill and only got worse and worse. On Monday, November 6, after a few days in life-support, Mateo sadly passed away. Family and friends are devastated by his loss. We are heartbroken and can’t explain the pain it has caused in us all.

We are asking you for your help in these times of need. We will be collecting donations for the Lopez family to help offset the costs of medical bills and funeral services. There are no words that can heal the pain the Lopez family is going through, but we can offer them our support and companionship. Any donations made will be greatly appreciated.

God bless you all.
