Matching Funds Grant for Student Loans
Donation protected
Earlier this year, due to the amount of student loan debt I carry, I qualified to apply for a grant from the denomination in which I pastor that would go toward paying down that debt. A few months later I was so grateful to learn that I was awarded the grant!
As a part of the grant, I will be awarded matching funds — up to $2500! — for any extra funds I am able to raise on my own. That means I could qualify for up to $5000 more that would go toward my student loans. This would be such an incredible gift, and a great source of help for me.
The folks who awarded this grant acknowledge the rising cost of theological education and the amount of debt that so many ministers carry as a result. Their goal is to help pastors be relieved of financial burdens and stress. I am truly grateful for this.
I have been reluctant to ask for this because I know that so many are struggling this year, not least financially. Over the past few months I have wrestled a lot with whether ask for your help. But this is a big deal for me and a very significant opportunity.
This is not money I deserve. I receive it as a pure and gracious gift. I am aware that I have already been given so much, that I am privileged to have the education I've received, and that I was even able to apply and qualify for loans for that education!
If you are able to give toward this project, and feel called to do so, I would be so very grateful! It would mean a great deal to me. Soli Deo gloria!
