Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Remembering Ruby Rabbit Rescue, Inc. as they tackle the Mass Colony running free in Saint Anthony, ID around Jaycee's Park. Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

You can read the local newspaper article about the situation HERE.

...

St. Anthony is currently struggling with a 100+ homeless rabbit population. They are primarily in the center of town and are living off vegetation in people's yards and the surrounding area.

The city and residents are starting to get desperate and are hoping that our rescue and our community can assist them in this issue, so that culling won't be necessary.

We expect the city to use this as an example of the dangers and irresponsibility of abandoning pets, which can lead to situations like this.

If we do not help the city, they maybe be faced with the only option of culling the rabbits, via poison, gas, shooting, or other means. So time is of the essence. Each day that passes is another potential pregnancy and the days are starting to get colder and most of them wont make it through the winter.

Domestic bunnies need humans for survival. And this issue is not the bunnies fault. It is the fault of humans and a lack of responsibility and care. Bunnies are intelligent and loving beings who feel joy, pain, sadness, and love and suffer as any being would.

We are planning a couple days to catch as many bunnies as we can and relocate them to new homes where they can be loved and live out their lives in peace.

With the number of bunnies, it is likely there are going to be quite a few that need medical care. We will try and get as many spayed and neutered as we can, but this would cost thousands of dollars to do 100 rabbits. We plan to separate them by sex, and remove the pregnant or nursing mother's from the group.

We are considering doing rabbitat housing for the majority of them, separated by sex of course. This will allow them to be safe from predators whilst living in a natural rabbit environment.
