HELP! Emergency Surgery for Mason!

(UPDATE: Emergency surgery underway TODAY, April 12th!!! All because of your quick work and generosity.)
This 5-month-old golden retriever puppy is a beloved new family dog, and a therapy dog in training for a friend with MS. He is doing very well with his training, knows six different tricks, heels on a leash. But last night (April 10th) he decided to try jumping off the dining room table. He broke his back right hind leg; the femur is fractured in half. A terrible and unexpected accident.
He belongs to a family of girls, our good friends, the Fendersons. The mother of the family, Juliet, has MS and needs this dog! With the health problems she has experienced lately, they do not have the money for surgery. And with such a short window, there is not much time to earn money either.
The surgery has to be done within 48 hours. The family contacted four different vets, and the quote they received was $4500 (plus medications) for the surgery. None of the vets will offer a payment plan for the surgery. (The other heartbreaking option they were given was amputation--not okay for a therapy dog!!)
I know the Fendersons will be forever grateful if they can get this surgery for their sweet Mason. Please help us help them! (Any funds raised above the amount for Mason's medical bills will be donated to the furry friends at the Longmont Humane Society .)
