Masks for NY Medical Professionals

Donation protected
Mission
We are raising money for protective personal equipment (PPE) for hospitals in New York, which is currently the epicenter of the COVID-19 crisis. Without proper protective gear medical professionals will be unable to properly treat patients, putting communities at further risk.  We are specifically sending KN95s to medical residents at the following hospitals:

Elmhurst Hospital
Weill Cornell Medicine
Mount Sinai Health System
New York Presbyterian
Stony Brook Hospital
Montefiore Medical Center

Costs and details
To give an understanding of cost, 1 box contains 900 masks which are priced at $2500. We have already donated 3 boxes to Elmhurst Hospital and 1 box to Stony Brook Hospital.  We are trying to send as many masks as possible hence the 50K ask. We are distributing directly to medical residents, most of whom are limited to one mask per week given lack of supply. The residents will then distribute the masks to their colleagues in the department. These masks are FDA and CE approved, following the ISO standard.

Here is a testimonial from a resident in one of the NYC hospitals to demonstrate the impact of providing our medical professionals the proper protective gear:

I've been having trouble sleeping lately too. There are trucks of refrigerated dead bodies at my hospital that haunt me when I'm awake and asleep. One patient dying every fifteen minutes. I don't even have the time to grieve for the patient I couldn't save. My therapist, who is also sick and in isolation, told me to find a routine when I am home from my 18 hour shift. But how do I find a 'normal' routine when I am so used to the hospital routine of seeing patients lining up like cattle at a slaughter house, intubating them, and watching them die? Sick, intubate, die. Sick, intubate, die. A nurse I know passed away from the virus too. He was young and cheerful but he had asthma. His last words to his sister was "I can't breath. I love you." I am too numb to cry. I am young and healthy and so I shouldn't cry because I'm not afraid of dying. But older retired health professionals are recruited to work in the front lines and they are crying because they know they are going to die without protective personal equipment. I am so grateful for my friends outside of medicine who are asking for donations on my behalf and shipping the masks to my coworkers and me. There are even strangers I've never even met who had shipped me masks and said they appreciate my service. One day when all this is over, I hope we can comfort each other by touch again. I want to hug my friends and kind strangers and tell them how grateful I am. We will win this fight together.
