Masks for Coronavirus Relief in Southwest
The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is hitting the rural Southwest hard. Please join us - Steve Brown and Steve Rushingwind of Southwest Stories with the Two Steves, in helping to bring much needed masks to the Navajo Nation, Hopi, and Zuni.
We're working with volunteer mask-makers and others (we'll update as this campaign progresses), to ship directly to reliable contacts in the Navajo, Hopi, and Zuni communities. Right now, we're just raising funds to help reimburse our volunteers for shipping costs - they're donating their time, materials, and talent, and we're not taking a cut. We'll have a full accounting of GoFundMe donations on our website at www.southweststories.us. Any donation helps.
We Two Steves just wanted to do something as the coronavirus pandemic is threatening these communities that lack the resources of major urban areas to combat the COVID-19 threat. New Mexico's Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is so alarmed that the virus could "wipe out" some tribal nations. We've seen alarming reports from all three nations, so, if you can help us cover shipping costs for masks to go out (our first shipment is being sent by one of our "We Maskateer" volunteers tomorrow - April 9), we would greatly appreciate it.
If you want to donate more, or donate funds to help these nations with more than masks, please contact us for suggestions. Any funds donated beyond our needs to reimburse shipping costs (or possibly purchase N95 masks for healthcare professionals), will be donated to established funds on these nations to help their relief efforts for the coronavirus pandemic and recovery.
Thank you,
The Two Steves
