We just want to say thank you one more time. Our job is done.

***** OVER 45,000  FACE MASKS WERE DISTRIBUTED*****
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATION

Many of our most vulnerable neighbors did have access  to safe reusable face masks, putting them at greater risk and limited their use of public transportation  and shopping.  We believe were were able to slow the spread and help  our health workers by getting reusable masks in the hands of those that are catching the coronavirus the most and dying from it.

The poor, homeless, and other disadvantaged people paid the highest price during this pandemic.  Without masks, these folks were placed at a further disadvantage and greater harm. They made up disproportionately large numbers in our overburdened hospitals, taxing that system and health workers. We didn't want to sit by, stuck at home, and let this happen.  We received cash as well as large donations of hand made and manufactured quality masks from so many national and local sources.  We were able to get these 45,000 masks into Baltimore most marginalized communities thanks to help of local community organizations and their volunteers. We also distributed thousands of bottles of hand sanitizer to local store and individuals in the most needy of our communities'.  We donated masks to:

Arabbers Preservation Society/Food Rescue Baltimore
Bolton House Resident Association
Casa de Maryland
Franciscan Center Community Kitchen
Food for Friends
Healthcare for the Homeless
McCulloh Homes Resident Association
Middle East Mutual Aid
Oliver Community Association
Reservoir Hill Food Distribution (Temple Beth Am)
Sex Workers Outreach Project
Social Work Community Outreach Services
Transit Advocates (for distribution at MTA bus stops)
Upton-Harlem Park Mutual Aid

PLEASE DONATE WHATEVER YOU CAN.  WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER. Every $1 donation pays for at least one reusable cloth mask for a person who is low income, homeless or on our streets.  If you want to make masks, great, we are happy to distribute them for you. Just let us know. [email redacted]

Many of the poor in our city work and  provide essential services. They care for our elderly, they stock the shelves of OUR stores, and they deliver OUR food  and prescriptions, and in so many ways are the " front lines" behind our medical community in making sure that we are cared for.  We are one community and this is one of many ways to show it. Thank you for giving . Every dollar went straight to purchasing masks, providing instructions in different languages on how to properly use the mask and other safety practices. Thank you. Stay caring.
